Final exam and course grades posted - We're done!

Grades for Final exam, and the final grades for the course, have been posted on the Grades page.

The average on the exam was good, 84.5%. Congratulations, it was a tough test!

The final course grades were curved by the addition of 2.375% (ca. 9.5 points) to each toal percentage - this represents moving the highest score acheived up to 100%. This also nicely drops the grade cut-offs into gaps in the grade distribution.

I'll post these scores in a few minutes. probably before you see this post.

Thanks for a great semester - congratulations on your success!

Midterm Exam #2 grades posted

Grades for Midterm exam #2, and the last couple of Discussion sessions, have been posted on the Grades page.

The average was bit lower than usual, at 71%. Bear in mind that in the end only your best 10 Discussion session scores will count (you'll discard the lowest 2 or 3 scores), and in general the Final exam scores are better than the second midterm scores.

Once you review your exam (I'll have them in class Monday, oryou can pick them up in lab or in my office), if you have questions about your score, please feel free to ask.

CORRECTION to Midterm Exam #2 take-home section

In question #1 of the take-home portion of the exam, there is an editing mistake - this question should read (correction in UPPER CASE):

1. For each of the GENERA listed, provide the name of THE PHYLOGENETIC GROUP (PHYLUM), and something about it (1⁄2 point each):

The headings on the table are correct. And the "Something about it" should refer to the GENUS, not the PHYLUM.
